Your iPhone probably lights up with push notifications all day long, but only a tiny low fraction of these are likely to be important. Unfortunately, there are no easy thanks to discerning between important and non-important notifications without watching your display, and this suggests that if you’re smack within the middle of something important and can’t have a look at your handset, you won’t know what you’re missing.
The aforementioned situation doesn’t come up too often, but it should happen more frequently when you’re at work and stuck in meetings all day or when you’re at school and don’t want to create it obvious that you’re checking your iPhone for notifications. For that reason, a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called NotiVibe by iOS developer AnthPak may are available in the clutch.
NotiVibe works by terminating a selected number of vibrations after you press and hold your iPhone’s sleep/wake button. These vibrations are assigned to apps on your device, so you’ll know that if it vibrates once, then you have got a missed notification from application A; or if it vibrates twice, then you have got a missed notification from application B.
These vibrations may be felt together with your hand as you grip your device in your pocket to press and hold the sleep/wake button, so it may be easy to see if you have got missed notifications from the apps that matter most to you. The tweak also displays a complimentary notification banner on the Lock screen for later.
Once installed, NotiVibe adds a fanatical preference pane to the Settings app where you’ll configure the tweak to your liking:
Here, you may be able to:
- Toggle NotiVibe on or off on demand
- Choose your “Most” important app(s)
- Choose your “Semi“ important app(s)
- Configure NotiVibe only to figure when the device is locked
- Restrict NotiVibe’s behavior to unread notifications only
- Configure how long you’ll have to press and hold the sleep/wake button before the tweak works
- Choose what percentage vibrations your most significant and Semi important apps will exhibit on the activation
A Respring is required to avoid wasting any changes you create.
For best results, we recommend only assigning one app to every the “Most” important and “Semi” important app slots, otherwise, you’ll be playing a game to determine which apps you have got missed notifications for, and this might make it more difficult to see what you will have missed.
If you’re curious about giving NotiVibes a try, then you’ll download the tweak free from the Packix repository via your preferred package manager. The tweak supports to jailbreak iOS 13 devices.
