Longtime Pokémon game fans, especially of the classic Nintendo Game Boy flavor, may feel a touch nostalgic about the older games every now and then. Fortunately, if you’re itching for a few nostalgic relief and you have got a jailbroken iOS device at your disposal, then a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed PokeBar by iOS developer Liberato Aguilar can be able to help.
In the rather conspicuous screenshots above and below, you might’ve ascertained already that PokeBar brings Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow-inspired notification banners to pwned iOS 13 handsets. Moreover, it supports both dark and light-weight themes, looking at your device’s dark mode system settings.
If you couldn’t already tell from the examples, PokeBar supports stacked notifications via the Lock screen/Notification Center and also throughout iOS as floating notification banners at the highest of the display.
The banners are designed to appear a bit like the classic message bar within the popular Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow games for the Nintendo Game Boy, where text readouts would seem when engaging in dialogues with characters within the game. The developer even uses an analogous font, made possible by Jackster Productions.
PokeBar doesn’t include any options to configure at this point, because it relies solely on your handset’s system settings to modify between dark and light-weight mode automatically. On the opposite hand, the developer seems to be planning updates to the tweak within the future that might add more features down the road.
Those inquisitive about giving PokeBar a try can download it at no cost from the Packix repository via their preferred package manager. The tweak supports to jailbreak iOS 13 devices only and is open-source on the developer’s GitHub page.
