SITUM lets you initiate a search engine query from anywhere in iOS

If you ever end up in a very situation where you’re reading writing or website and wish to grasp more about whatever it’s you’re reading about, then you would possibly feel fired up to launch an internet browser and start a hunt engine query by way of Google, DuckDuckGo, or another computer program of your choosing. But what if you didn’t have to bother opening another app to try to do this?

That’s the concept behind a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called SITUM by iOS developers R0wDrunner and MegaDev, and as you might’ve discerned for yourself within the screenshot examples above, this tweak permits you to initiate a hunt engine query from virtually anywhere in iOS via the native Action Menu that appears after you begin highlighting a string of text.

In our example, we highlighted a touch of text from Apple’s website and invoked a Google look for that highlighted text. The tweak works anywhere in iOS, and you aren’t locked right down to Google, which is great if you like more privacy-centric search engines like DuckDuckGo.

You’ll notice that the interface floats within the middle of the screen, which you’ll easily close the interface with the ‘X’ button at the top-left, or open the online instance in a very full-blown application with the Safari button at the top-right.

After you put in SITUM, you’ll find a passionate preference pane within the Settings app where you’ll configure the tweak to your liking:

Here, you’ll be able to:

  • Toggle SITUM on or off on demand
  • Toggle the hand glass Emoji within the Action Menu
  • Choose between dark or light mode for the computer program
  • Choose your preferred search engine:
    • Google
    • DuckDuckGo
    • Start page
    • Eco said
  • Choose your preferred application interface:
    • Safari
    • Chrome
    • Firefox
    • Opera

At the highest right of the preference pane, users will find an outsized check button, and this is often accustomed to Respring. You’ll want to try to do this after making adjustments to the settings to confirm that they’re saved.

SITUM looks as if a promising addition to any jailbreak iOS 13 devices, and if you discover yourself looking for things all the time, then you would possibly find it useful even more so. The tweak is out there as a free download from R0wDrunner’s personal repository.

If you’re not already using R0wDrunner’s repository, then you’ll add it to your package manager of choice with the subsequent URL:
